Sr. Pricing Analyst

Job Description: 1. Job PurposePerforms analytical work to support the various business needs of GCS customers.
Prepares and analyzes data and coordinates the reporting function to accurately identify data integrity issues and recommends possible system or process enhancements.
2. Principal AccountabilitiesReporting:
Develops tools and processes to support GCS Pricing and Profitability analysis. Develops standard and ad-hoc reports; performs thorough analysis to identify root causes for failure and makes recommendations for solutions. Produces reports for management that draw data from various sources to aid in tracking active programs and business unit efficiency.
Analyzes data from various databases and pricing and profitability systems in the business units and prepares analysis to support the various needs; compiles and summarizes data to present to management as necessary. Support:
Support the revenue and profit optimisation of the GCS pricing responses through the effective management and usage of tariff repositories for Express, Air Freight, Ocean Freight and Road Freight.
This specifically includes the design and maintenance of these repositories as well as the provision of suitable analyses and recommendations.Ensure that a set of business rules governing the quality and usage of the repositories is followed.Provide qualitative input to the RFQ process to help GCS and the Business Units to win additional business.3. Nature and Scopea) ContextGCS customers represent more than 4 Bn Euro globally across the different Business Units. Any improvement in the acquisition rate and customer profitability has a significant impact on the results of GCS and the Business Units.Improving the quality of the GCS pricing responses to RFQs and understanding trends & opportunities in tariff changes over time, are instrumental in achieving financial targets.b) ContactsThe Pricing Analyst will work closely together with the entire GCS Pricing team. Next to that, the Pricing Analyst will have extensive contacts with the Business Units and the Customer Managers.c) Problem SolvingGood technical competence in understanding and manipulating data is primordial, as is the ability to synthesise complex or incomplete results. The holder should be able to extrapolate models based on objective data and search for supporting data from other sources.Understanding of GCS' overall objectives as well as local issues, pricing practices, pricing strategy and guidelines is fundamental.d) Decision MakingThe Pricing Analyst will work autonomously within the elaboration of the tariff repositories for which she/he is expected to independently search for solutions, including contacting experts within the network.
The Pricing Analyst is expected to liaise with BU experts and GCS regional pricing teams.e) Planning and OrganizationThe holder will be expected to show maturity and independence in their personal organization, for example in pro-actively organizing appropriate reviews and tool enhancements.f) Job ChallengeContribute the necessary analytical and consulting skills to advance GCS and the Business Units in terms of understanding and applying Pricing strategy and tactics.4.
