We maintain an active communication environment that supports a culture of self-managed work teams, continuous learning and process improvements.About the Job: The sourcing professional will identify and implement sourcing initiatives and national agreements for various commodities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contract negotiations for goods and services at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
Key job functions:
·Through spend analysis and leveraged buying, identify and implement opportunities to generate savings·Conduct market research and understand industry trends·Solicit input and buy-in from internal newspaper customers
·Create, publish and analyze requests for information/proposals and recommend sources of supply
·Prepare award justifications and savings analyses for national agreements
·Negotiate and prepare contracts·Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance and remedy as necessary
·Monitor and improve compliance with national agreements
·Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation and audit compliance
·Responsible for special projects and administrative duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Desired qualifications:
·BA in related field; CPM and/or MBA is a plus·3+ years of experience of sourcing or contracting experience (additional experience considered in lieu of degree). Experience with spend analysis, RFPs, negotiations and managing vendor relationships a plus.
·Proficiency in MS Office
