Senior Buyer - Huntington Beach

Oakwood Worldwide is currently seeking a Senior Buyer for our HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA office. This position will be responsible for the procurement and scheduling of products and services for multiple locations, while managing supplier performance based on key criteria such as product quality, on-time delivery, and market price competitiveness.



Duties and Responsibilities



Conducting market tests
Evaluate RFQ's
Negotiation of and performing detailed analyses
Establish and maintain effective suppliers and internal customer relationships
Manage supplier performance by ensuring product quality, on-time delivery and market price competitiveness
Initiates purchase orders and amendments for products and services
Inventory management and inventory tracking system
Secures and analyzes supplier quotes and services
Negotiates prices and terms with these suppliers
Recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
Identifies and resolves problems with suppliers pertaining to pricing discrepancies, receiving issues, etc.



Qualifications



Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
8-10 years purchasing experience
Strong knowledge and application of purchasing fundamentals and technical skills including, advanced negotiating, project management, organization and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, formulate and execute alternative plans. Must have the ability to solve complex issues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with multiple locations, all levels of management and the supply base.
Identify and implement strategic cost initiatives.
Must possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, character and integrity
