Senior Buyer

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for acquiring, purchasing, and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies for requisitioned material
• Negotiate with vendors to obtain quotations, prices and delivery times in line with company objectives
• Evaluate vendors’ services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives
• Research product sources and practice requirements for competitive bidding
• Oversee purchasing logs and records to ensure accuracy and follow through
• Monitor quality of goods by reviewing costs, schedules, timeliness of delivery and conformance to specifications
• Train purchasing clerk(s) on proper purchasing skills
• Manage parts and supply budget between $2M and $10M annually
• Perform daily purchasing to support the requirements for components, sub-assembly parts, equipment, tools, supplies and consumable items
• Work with and continuously tune the automated replenishment system
• Work with historical procurement data and the Supply Manager to forecast budgetary needs for all existing and future business
• Manage surplus items: 1) determine what models and quantities to keep based on future needs; and 2) optimize selling prices based on the practice of obtaining competitive bids.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Salary:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is classified as full time exempt. EOE
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:

• BA/BS degree preferred, AS required
• 3-5 years consumer and commercial Electronics and Computer Equipment purchasing experience required
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis working in Access
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to mentor staff in providing exemplary customer service skills
• Familiarity with electronic sub-assemblies and components
• Strong sense of urgency and retail business orientation
• Ability to think strategically and conceptually while managing details
• Ability to work independently day-to-day while being a strong team player
