This includes order confirmation, forwarding and obtaining responses to capability questionare to base supplier selection, price and terms negotiations, establishing contractual agreements, new product development sourcing, alternate sources, material specifications, material complaints, quality problems, establishing standard costs, consignment agreements, supplier selection, contract administration, and cost savings initiatives, and savings reports.Organizational Skills
Strong organizational and documentation skills are a necessity. Ability to grasp and understand concepts quickly. Possess logical and methodical thought processes. Need to prioritize based on urgency and needs of the company and perform tasks thoroughly and completely with minimal supervision. Detail oriented with a devotion to doing the job right and accomplishing a job thoroughly and completely. Must be able to perform detailed routine tasks with a high degree of accuracy.Computer and System Knowledge
Must be familiar and proficient with personal computers.
Need to be able to have a good working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and MRP/ERP systems.Purchasing Knowledge and Abilities
Must be extremely knowledgeable in chemical sourcing. Must possess strong negotiation skills. Formal training required.
Must be knowledgeable and familiar with all functional areas of Purchasing and standard industry procedures.Chemical/Regulatory/Quality Knowledge
Good knowledge of the drug or chemical industry and its regulations. Strong knowledge of FDA GMPs compliance requirements.
Sound knowledge of chemical processes and technical issues.
Posses a background in Quality Control and Quality Assurance.Personal Skills
Should be detail oriented, well organized, and possess the ability to determine priorities requiring actions. Requires the ability to accurately perform detailed routine tasks, thoroughly and completely, with minimal supervision.
Must possess an assertive demeanor and be able to perform in a high level of visibility environment with confidence, energy, and ability.
Must be a dedicated team worker with a high degree of energy, and enthusiasm. Must posses a good and positive image and attitude within the department, company and in communication with suppliers.
Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
Good mathematical skills are necessary.
Needs to possess logical and methodical thought processes.
Must be able to perform multiple tasks concurrently.Education/Experience
Extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Extensive knowledge of Purchasing procedures and MRP.
