We currently have a career opportunity in our US Service Division (Hoerbiger Service Inc.) for a highly motivated Purchasing Specialist to develop our supply chain for regional support.Summary: The purpose of this position is to coordinate activities with the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services to support growth, profit, competitive position, and other regional objectives across selected sites of Hoerbiger Service. Responsible for product sourcing (including formal RFQ/RFP’s), procurement, supplier development / management, contract development / management implementation, supplier logistics and freight costs within a multi-site environment. Works closely with the General Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Branch Managers of Hoerbiger Service Inc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from approved suppliers.
•Defines and implements purchasing strategies and procurement policies designed to consolidate, standardize and/or centralize regional wide purchasing activities within a multi-site environment.
•Assist in developing and monitoring Purchasing policies and procedures
•Source, evaluate and approve new suppliers (domestic and international).
•Establishes programs that analyze purchase requirements and suppliers to identify lowest total cost while maximizing value to the company. Reduces overall supply chain costs.
•Negotiate supplier agreements/contracts, obtain best pricing and monitor quality of purchased materials and supplier performance.
•Analyze changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality (including streamlining supply chain).
•Prepare and input purchase orders into ERP system.
•Analyze inventory levels and product demand to determine re-order points and safety stock levels to ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.

Degree in Business, Logistics, or Production and Operations Management or equivalent. Five to ten years of purchasing experience. Familiarity with overseas purchasing and customs compliance required.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Strong background in the use of MRP software. ERP (SAP) implementation experience preferred.Certificates and Licenses:NAPM / ISM certified preferredSupervisory Responsibilities:Whilst there is no immediate supervisory requirement the individual should have a good grasp of the concepts of managing people and should be comfortable with the managing through influencing.Work Environment:
