Purchasing Assistant

Industrial Distributor of Bearing and Transmission components is seeking a qualified individual to Provide general support to the Purchasing Department. This is a entry level position


Job Duties

1.Provide general support to purchasing department, including handling incoming calls, assisting with scheduling, preparing presentation materials, maintaining files/documentation, and fulfilling reporting needs.

2.Purchase, distribute, and organize internal supplies.

3.Assist Purchasing Manager, Inventory Analyst and buyers with file maintenance and special projects.

4.Assist Inventory Analyst with inventory analysis and adjust stock levels for each warehouse, as required.

5.Coordinate efforts with warehouse accounts payable, buyers, and vendors to resolve costing and shipping discrepancies. Correct files, communicate results to related accounts payable, warehouse, and purchasing personnel, monitor and document vendor error rates, and report results to Purchasing Manager.

6.Work in conjunction with buyers to expedite purchase orders. Inform sales personnel of delays affecting customer orders. Inform buyers of delays that may require special attention. Maintain good relations with vendors to maximize vendor support. Be informed of vendor cost increases, lead time delays, plant closings, and any other significant vendor information; relay information to related personnel. Monitor and document vendor delivery performance and report results to Purchasing Manager.

7.Continually increase job knowledge. Actively participate in training, seminars, plant tours, and meetings.

8.Perform added duties as instructed by Purchasing Manager.
