Purchasing Agent
Wellman of Mississippi, Inc. is seeking a qualified Purchasing Agent for our Bay St. Louis, MS facility. We are a world-class manufacturing facility which produces high quality resins for packaging applications.

Responsibilities:

-Purchase MRO items to support a chemical manufacturing operation.
-Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
-Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
-Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
-Negotiate, or renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
-Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.
-Maintain and review computerized records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories. Follow-up and expedite items to ensure timely delivery.
Qualifications:

B.S. degree plus 5 years of experience in support of manufacturing
ISM cert. preferred
Experience with J.D. Edwards Enterprise 1 prefer
