Program Buyer

Purpose:
Our client, an Automotive Supplier in the northern metro-Detroit area, is seeking a Program Buyer for it's R&D facility.

On a daily basis, this person will be responsible for:

- Contributing to the conception of the client offer: participating in the program team from the offer conception phase/Pre-Requisition for Quotation Approval (RFQA), and involving expert suppliers in the Pre-RFQA phase.
- Ensuring supplier selection from the agreed supplier panel; identifying, in accordance with the commodity buyer, and consulting with suppliers. Negotiating or participating with the commodity buyer in supplier negotiations and the final choice of supplier.
- Directing performance follow-up during the program phase: managing suppliers, comparing costs with objectives, ensuring quality during the program phase reviews.
- Ensuring early involvement of the plant buyers in the program before the series phase.
- Managing specific mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.

To be qualified for this position, candidates must have:

- Bachelors degree in purchasing, engineering, or business.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Program Buyer in an automotive .enlivenment (experience seeing a program through from start to finish).

This is an immediate, direct hire opportunity.
- Financial forecasting experience for an automotive program.
