Worldspan, the leader in travel technology resources for travel suppliers, travel agencies, e-commerce sites and corporations worldwide has an an immediate opportunity at either its Kansas City offices or Atlanta-based headquarters for a Product Strategist within the Product Strategy division. Responsibilities include:This position can be located either in Atlanta or Kansas City and is the same as #832. Under limited supervision, and using discretion with established policies, procedures and guidelines, research, develop and implement product direction which drive strategic value and revenue for Worldspan. Represent Worldspan at car rental industry functions and present relevant technology solutions based on industry trends. Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and third party suppliers. Consult with customers to discern the competitive landscape and determine Worldspan’s innovative product strategy. Identify potential markets for new or existing products, create value propositions, financial/ROI impact calculations, prioritize market opportunities, determine/reinvent product solutions to solve unique business issues, and ensure successful product rollout.Qualifications
Strong knowledge of car rental industry and high-level understanding of car supplier business and technology needs. Working knowledge of Worldspan Car products and systems is highly desirable. Travel industry background a must. Ability to set priorities, and make/justify difficult decisions in the face of conflicting customer requests and needs. Excellent organizational and superior time management skills. Ability to work on multiple complex assignments simultaneously. Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to convey complex information to non-technical audience. Ability to make group presentations. Flexible to changing priorities and needs. Good analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of an Associate’s or Business or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
