Procurement Manager

The company has over 50 years of aerospace experience and their design and engineering expertise has produced a full spectrum of advanced customized hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel management and electromechanical products and solutions for the best aerospace and defense manufacturers worldwide.This key individual will manage: 1) A group of 5-6 buyers and clerical staff. 2) Sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers. 3) A key contact person for purchasing and quotes from vendors. 4) Will interact with all departments within two different Plants.5) Responsible for developing plans and organizing the workflow of configured purchasing group to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Requirements:

1) Bachelors degree is definitely required. 2) CPM or advanced degree is a plus. 3) 5 years experience out of the metal (steel) fabrication industry. 4) At least 5 years of management experience in purchasing. 5) Thorough knowledge FAR/DoD Procurement Regulations, strong quality and problem solving background. 6) Experience at managing multi-tier supplier chains from vantage point of prime/lower tier contractor. 7) Candidate must focus on supporting program goals and factory need; future product development with good strategic sourcing skills. 8) Ability to proactively lead a multi-disciplined Supplier Base Integration team in the evaluation, selection, award and continuous improvement of a highly technical/precision producer base in the delivery of complex mechanical and electrical product in a DoD procurement environment. Heavy mechanical emphasis is needed.9) Must be capable of dealing with external and internal personnel y possessing outstanding interpersonal skills.
