BASIC PURPOSE:
The merchandiser will work closely with the team to assist with
achieving sales, gross margins, and other financial objectives for the
business segment. Will provide assistance to sales in an effort to
pursue and close sales. The position facilitates the communication of
marketing information. The position is also responsible for the
replenishment of designated custom items and ordering of direct and
indirect orders from the vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs purchasing of indirect and direct products within their
product lines. To include combining indirect orders to stock orders
accepted by the Brand buyers for specific suppliers.
2. Expedite special orders.
3. Process returns to vendors.
4. Provides input on items to be stocked.
5. Places all direct and indirect orders with the vendors.
6. Replenishes defined custom items.
7. Responsible for custom item/special order item set up in the system
and E3.
8. Initiates requests and maintains new items that are set up in the
legacy system to ensure proper feed into E3 (on custom products).
9. Assist in the achievement of inventory turn goals.
10. Actively manage aged inventory and take necessary action to minimize
the exposure to the division.
11. Becomes knowledgeable about products offered.
12. Provides product sourcing, costing and availability for non-stock to
sales and customer service personnel; does necessary research on new
items as required.
13. Maintain vendor source files.
14. Strategically purchase products and manage inventory programs.
15. Backup other team members.
16. Manage all aspects of consignment inventory.
17. Address issues with costing on special orders.
18. Other duties as assigned by management.
