Reports to: Director Strategic SourcingJob Summary:
Supplier Value Improvement Process Specialists are accountable for developing and implementing supplier strategies that result in continuous supplier value improvement through the Supplier Value Improvement (SVIP) Process.Responsibilities to Include:
Provides technical expertise for business excellence concepts, tools, metrics, and initiatives.
Provides periodic reports of project status and progress to management.
Participates in alignment of the SVIP plan and project priorities, resource needs and budgets resulting from GDP and STRAP processes.
Facilitates self-directed work teams, SVIP events, and provides training in “core skill” areas to teams and peers.
Encourages and coordinates early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products and parts design using the supplier’s expertise to optimize quality and productivity.
Manage continuous supplier improvement and SVIP supplier selection through regular re-evaluation of quality and performance benchmarks and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection.
Provide SVIP schedule interface for Commodity Teams and Supplier Development Team.
Participates in the selection of suppliers and supply management activities.
Manages projects and action items resulting from SVIP activities that result in improvements to cost, quality, and schedule.
Fosters a culture that utilizes data-driven decision making and deploys waste reduction methods to reduce cycle times and improve process yield.
Communicate SVIP/SD objectives, tools and strategies to suppliers and internal Cessna personnel as required.
Monitor effective tool usage and process deployment, making necessary corrections and adaptations as required.
Drive the metrics to ensure effective deployment of SVIP/SD.
Mentor Black Belt and Green Belt Projects as required.A Textron Company
