We are looking for Global Indirect Commodity Team Leaders to help us achieve our goals. You will be working within the Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions business focused on Supply Chain initiatives. These roles will be based around the globe with a focus in the Americas, Europe and Asia.



Purpose:

Plans, organizes and provides leadership direction for the strategic sourcing function of an assigned commodity across ACS. Aligns global commodity managers at each SBU to implement commodity strategies to achieve lowest total costs, effective asset management, continuous quality improvement, on time delivery, improved cycle time, and early supplier involvement in product development.



Principle Accountabilities:
Drive an ACS level strategy for assigned commodities that address performance improvement for:
Emerging region sourcing
Payables
Supply base optimization
Cycle time reduction
People development
Process optimization
Productivity
Maintain an approved sourcing process including systems, policies and procedures.
Lead ACS in the corporate pooling process.
Be the focal point in corporate negotiations and lead Honeywell level negotiations.
Lead ACS sourcing team to identify and select approved suppliers capable of providing parts and materials that meet established requirements.
Manage pricing that meets target costs on new parts and annual AOP goals.
Drive performance for delivery to divisional goals.
Drive performance for quality metric.
Support the implementation of agreements w/ strategic suppliers in accordance with ACS goals.
Link the ACS Sourcing STRAP (Strategic Plan) to each SBU.
Work with commodity managers to assure that coordinated commodity strategies are linked across all ACS global sites.
Interface with sourcing leaders, factory managers and site buyers to drive productivity and savings, supplier performance and emerging region sourcing.
Identify opportunities for increasing supplier consolidations, emerging region spend and productivity savings.


Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Four year degree
3 years of supply chain experience



Additional Qualifications:









Skills / Knowledge:

1. 3 years indirect global commodity management experience

2. MBA desired

3. Experience and proven ability to manage and influence people from multiple countries and US based locations.

4. Proven leadership and experience in supply chain management.

5. Demonstrated ability to manage/lead multiple projects and changing priorities

6. Ability to work with and manage influencing all levels of leadership.

7. Ability to make data driven decisions.

8. Excellent communication skills.

9. Successful use of decision-making and analytical skills

10. CPM or CPIM certification

Meet or exceed ACS delivery, payables, Lead time and quality goals.
Productivity/year over year savings goals achieved.
Goal of spend on contract/LTA with assigned supply base
Meet or exceed supply base reduction and emerging region spend goals.



Detailed Activities and Tasks:

Lead the Global commodity team to:


Understand the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the commodity supply base spend and savings for the year.


Generally understand the ACS products, factory locations and major supplier base.


Know and understand major markets in emerging regions for assigned commodity area.


Conduct analysis to determine new supply base opportunities to present to sourcing leaders, team members and factory leaders.


Conduct negotiations with suppliers.


Write and manage ACS level contracts with new suppliers.


Utilize Honeywell established electronic and web based systems to find, establish and manage new suppliers.


Work with supplier quality, NPI, CE/VE and design engineers to qualify and manage suppliers.


Work with emerging region teams to transfer from a supplier in a high cost region to a supplier in a low cost region.

Company Overview

Honeywell can trace its roots back to 1885, when an inventor named Albert Butz patented the furnace regulator and alarm. He formed the Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Co., Minneapolis, on April 23, 1886, and a few weeks later invented a simple, yet ingenious device that he called the "damper flapper."


Here's how it worked. When a room cooled below a predetermined temperature, a thermostat closed the circuit and energized an armature. This pulled the stop from the motor gears, allowing a crank attached to the main motor shaft to turn one-half revolution. A chain connected to the crank opened the furnace's air damper to let in air. This made the fire burn hotter. When the temperature rose to the preset level, the thermostat signaled the motor to turn another half revolution, closing the damper and damping the fire. The temperature correction was automatic. Over the years, many Honeywell products have been based upon similar, but more complicated closed-loop systems.
