Manages company-wide procurement activities for major raw materials in a global environment and supplies with overall responsibility for developing strategic purchasing direction and initiatives
Manages procurement process and partnerships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of specified commodities to price, quality, and reliability
Plans and implements cost-reduction programs that maintain quality and customer satisfaction
Identifies and evaluates procurement talent to become part of the team and then manages and leads the activities of a dedicated, professional procurement team. Acts as a mentor and role model to ensure their development
Identifies management tools which increase procurement effectiveness and deliver bottom-line returnsQualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
Procurement / Purchasing Certification required
10 or more years of experience in a corporate procurement and supplier management role within a large corporate environment with five or more years in a leadership role
Expertise in the knowledge and application of full-cycle procurement strategy principles, policies and procedures and supply chain processes
Working knowledge of the latest e-procurement systems and applications
Demonstrated ability to maintain oversight of e-procurement system, materials management, and/or processes
Demonstrated ability to monitor, amend, and develop departmental processes and procedures to ensure processing of agreements and purchase documentation in accordance with company requirements in a timely manner
Demonstrated success directing supplier selection activities including RFP’s, legal agreements, performance monitoring, and other aspects of supplier management
Strong analytical and decision-making principles
Ability to manage complex transactions involving suppliers, customers and all levels of management
Proven ability in managing procurement budgets
Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines & demanding quality execution
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and MS Project software
Experience in ERP systems software (SAP preferred)
Ability to manage multiple projects nationally and internationally
Working knowledge of local, state, and federal government regulations pertaining to purchasing, contracts, and compliance
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30-50% initially; 25% later as necessaryAbout the Company
