Our client is a major player in the automotive industry, a rapidly growing and expanding tier 1 supplier.


In this search we are looking for an experienced purchasing professional to focus on buying brake and chassis related commodities.

Title: Commodity Manager

Department: Global Purchasing

Description: Commodity Manager for Brake and Chassis parts for Aftermarket Business Unit.

Manages commodity supply base to achieve corporate objectives on supplier rationalization, cost, quality and delivery performance specific to Brake and Chassis.

Oversees the sourcing and contract negotiation process.

Provides support to plants.

Responsibilities include securing and analyzing quotations for new part introductions, and negotiating prices/terms with suppliers for the purchase of Brake and Chassis parts.

Ability to plan, develop, and implement supply base strategies as well as negotiate and achieve cost reductions.

Expedite the procurement of materials in short and critical supply. Coordinate quality matters, engineering changes and price changes with suppliers and plant locations.


Develops and executes Brake and Chassis commodity strategies.


Oversees the sourcing and contract negotiation process. Provides support to Inventory Control.

Works closely with Marketing and Engineering to execute Brake and Chassis Brands and Product Strategies.


Requirements:

Candidates should have a Bachelors degree. MBA a plus.

Minimum 5 years experience in automotive Supply Chain.


Direct experience in the Aftermarket industry and supply market preferred.

Candidates must be proficient with Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

Must be able to work in a Matrix organization.

Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.

Strong negotiation skills a must.

Must be willing to travel globally (est. 10% Travel).
