Supervises: Merchandise Coordinator

Position Overview:

Overall owner of buyership strategic planning, sourcing and procurement, and team development.

Essential Functions:
Principal Accountabilities & Authority:
Coaching and leadership of team: assessment, training, and development, and career planning.
Ownership of category financial performance and analysis.
Category assortment planning and strategic development to drive sales across all media
Product sourcing, development and positioning
Pricing strategy
Concept development and management
Industry and category competitive and trend analysis
Owned Brand and / or product development and process management as defined by product / buyership strategy.
Promotional strategy and execution.
Ownership of vendor relationship and performance management.
Communication and coordination of Concept vision and execution with internal support partners.
Communication and Partnership with internal teams.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), or equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience & Requirements:
2-5 years of relevant Buyer/ Retail Management experience preferred
1-3 years team leadership experience required
Experience in Jewelry, Home Decor, Fitness, Ready to Wear, Cosmetics, Computers & Electronics desired
Product Development experience preferred
