JOB DESCRIPTION:Our client is a major player in the automotive industry, a growing & expanding OEM.
In this search we're looking for a seasoned automotive buyer, with significant experience buying "engine related" commodities.
Responsibilities will include
* procurement of various engine related commodities and systems
* development of new international and domestic suppliers
* organization and development of new cost reduction initiatives Requirements:
* at least 5 years experience in procurement of automotive engine related commodities, including castings, cams, crankshafts, pistons, gears, cylinders, radiators, gaskets, blocks, transmissions or valves
* proven experience sourcing new suppliers, both internationally and domestically
* excellent negotiations skills...proven experience as a "closer"
* proficiency in 'cost reduction' initiatives
* experience working with engineering
* strong project management skills
* BS degree JOB REQUIREMENTS: buyer & engine, cam, crank, piston, valve
