Bulk Buyer
Department: GroceryJob Summary:
Maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient customer service. Perform all functions relating to ordering and selling of grocery, inventory control, and maintenance of stockroom, backroom, and sales floor. Assist with overall department operation.Will do the following principle duties and responsibilities:
1. Successfully complete Grocery learning checklists.
2. Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Grocery Team Member.
3. Arrive at work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
4. Provide excellent customer service and regularly practice and model suggestive selling techniques.
5. Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking product.
6. Practice courteous and proper etiquette when answering phones and pages.
7. Give timely customer feedback to Team Leader and Associate Team Leader.
8. Comply with all applicable state health and safety codes.
9. Maintain clean and sanitary operating environment.
10. Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
11. Assist in training of new Team Members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials.
12. Order all bulk products and maintain appropriate back stock levels.
13. Help to achieve and exceed margin and sales targets.
14. Process invoices and returns.
15. Control spoilage/shrink; achieve turn goals; participate in monthly inventory.
16. Request and ensure proper signage.
17. Participate in national, regional, and store programs/promotions.
18. Perform other duties as assigned by Associate Team Leader, Team Leader, Store Leadership and Grocery Coordinator(s).
REQUIREMENTS
1. Knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Grocery Team Member.
2. Minimum 1 year grocery experience including bulk experience or equivalent.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of bulk product.
4. Ability to sell proactively and communicate effectively with customers.
5. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
6. Capable of teaching others in a constructive and positive manner.
7. Proficient in math skills and basic computer skills.
8. Strong organization skills.
9. Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
10. Ability to operate all necessary equipment.
11. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required.Physical working conditions:
1. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
2. In an 8 hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours, sitting 1-4 hours.
3. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
4. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
5. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
6. Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
