TIGHT-WAD WANTED! If you are a Buyer or Purchasing Specialist who loves to save your company money using your proven ability to negotiate the best terms of purchase and shipping costs we welcome your resume! This position works at our beautiful River Farm Nursery location in Shawnee, KS.

HERMES, a volume wholesaler of trees and shrubs, is seeking an experienced BUYER to source and purchase nursery stock and landscaping supplies in quantity. Position may be full or part-time (Monday through Friday) if you prefer. Full time position includes comprehensive benefits.

The ability to communicate persuasively and effectively is important along with professional interpersonal skills. In addition to routine items our Buyer manages all purchasing related aspects of ongoing projects, coordinating activities with production, inventory, and shipping staff.

Very occasional travel may be needed to visit vendors and assess the quality of product available.

A strong background in purchasing and negotiation is required. Degree preferred (horticulture and/or knowledge of trees, shrubs and nursery materials is helpful but not required).
