Associate Director of Sourcing -- Corporate

POSITION PURPOSE:

In conjunction with the Director of Corporate Sourcing: This person will lead their spend category's organization to solidify a clear strategy and enhance an organization that will deliver a sourcing and procurement process which are integrated with all relevant business. As the categories of spend managed by this role typically result in supplier contracts, this person should be an expert at negotiating complex contracts. Understands industry best-procurement practices. Earns the respect to represent the Procurement and Sourcing function on the negotiating team for supplier contracts. A thought leader at optimizing the selection of suppliers and developing cost savings synergies across departments and business franchises. Builds strong internal and external procurement and executive relationships.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Represents the Procurement and Sourcing team function on the negotiating team for supplier contracts.

Provides procurement contracts best practices to all regions of the world; and helps lead the methodology for global procurement supplier contracts.

Responsible for leading all aspects of CIBA Vision Strategic Sourcing and Procurement methodology. The Sourcing activity includes analyzing the expenditure base, identifying cost reduction projects, performing market analysis, recommending short and long term sourcing strategies with defined risk/benefit analysis.

Develop and executes change management strategies.

Provide analytical and project management leadership for cross-functional and cross-organizational sourcing initiatives. Lead high-value CIBA Vision/Novartis strategic sourcing teams for major initiatives Develop Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP), for Service Contracts, and Supply Agreements as required. Conduct negotiations with suppliers. Ensure compliance with purchasing and company policies and procedures andethical practices.

Provide leadership for electronic procurement tools.

Provides leadership for procurement and sourcing methodology as well as toolkit development.

Lead consolidated reporting on sourcing initiatives, spend and savings data.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Level:
MBA Degree, C.P.M.

Minimum Required Experience:
6-12 years related experience.

Preferred Level:
8-15 years practical experience in sourcing environment.

Minimum Required Skills:
Extremely strong communication skills, and analytical leadership.

Preferred Level:
Outstanding negotiator and world class sourcing expert
