Security Analyst

Our continued growth and success has created the need for additional like-minded professionals to serve as a Senior Security Analyst for our Corporate Security Office.

The Senior Security Analyst position is primarily focused on supporting the company’s Security Program through maintaining security policies and procedures, performing security control activity reviews, and conducting risk assessments. This position also manages security-related projects and performs investigation on security incidents. This position reports to the Director of Security & Safety, HealthMarkets Corporate Security Office.

Job responsibilities include:

•Evaluate and recommend security solutions to current or potential security threats as they relate to the computing environment.

•Manage security technology projects across multiple business units.

•Participate in project teams to ensure new applications and systems will comply with established security policies and standards.

•Participate in formal risk assessment reviews to determine the critical points of business exposure.

•Develops and maintains the security standards and procedures for the administration of user IDs, Logins, and access to computer systems/networks according to security policies.

•Troubleshoot and resolve security issues relating to data and computer systems/network access.

•Monitor system access in relationship to job function/sensitive data.

•Develops and promotes security awareness programs within the company.

•Increase knowledge of technology and trends by taking classes, attending seminars and reading field-related publications.

•Assist internal and external auditors as required.

•Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
•Minimum 5 years experience in the Information Technology field.

•Requires a minimum 3-5 years of experience at the Security Analyst level.

•Familiar with security on Windows 2000, Unix, Linux and IBM mainframe systems.

•Knowledge of various network protocols, firewalls, remote access, network operating systems and vulnerabilities, PC operating systems and vulnerabilities, and network management tools.

•Excellent analytical skills, customers service skills and communication skills.

•Professional certification such as CISSP preferred.

•Project Management skills highly desired.

•ISACA certifications a plus.
