Network Security

Individual is responsible for managing, monitoring and analysis on the status of the data network using Checkpoint firewall technologies and from data collected from intrusion detection systems, traffic analysis monitors and event management systems. Individual will analyze both raw and processed data, and identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to resources. Identify security breaches and intrusions, initiate alerts and recovery actions. Individual will be responsible for analyzing and validating the firewall configurations to assure they are properly configured and operational to assure the highest level of security is maintained within the network. Individual will be required to work various scheduled shifts to support a 24x7x365 operational capability, to include a rotating oncall schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills Required:

-Extensive Checkpoint experience including installation, configuration and management of checkpoint firewall 4.1-NGX, including HA.
-Must have experience with carrier level Crossbeam systems, X-series and C-series devices.
-Checkpoint SPLAT installation and maintenance, including HA.
-Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Checkpoint firewall configurations
-Provider-1 Installation, configuration and maintenance.
-Experience with the implementation and utilization of FireMon Opsec product for firewall management stations
-Network Troubleshooting with heavy TCP/IP theory and expert knowledge of the OSI model and it's affect in real-world enterprise network and security architecture to include experience utilizing tcpdump, snoop and ethereal sniffers to troubleshoot tcp/ip/udp traffic
-Experience installing, managing and planing software and hardware upgrades
-Experience with Checkpoint Site to site and client based VPN configuration and maintenance, including best practices for maintaining a corporate-wide client VPN with the ability to troubleshoot and repair all VPN connectivity issues, VPN data transfers and data flow.
-Experience in utilizing the Check Point User Center to validate licensing on each firewall and to request new licenses as needed
-Advanced knowledge of Unix and Linux Operating Systems.

-Must be comfortable in presenting both details to technical teams as well as business impact/risks analysis to management
-Strong customer service skills
-Excellent oral and written communications skills
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
-Must have excellent documentation skills.
-Must be comfortable working within a team oriented environment
