Additional information is available at http://www.owenscorning.com/career.The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Leader is a critical job to the performance and continued growth of the Jackson Plant, in the Composites Solutions Business (CSB). Reporting to the Jackson Plant Leader, this is a leadership position accountable for the environmental, health and safety processes and systems.The EH&S Leader will have a primary focus on EH&S, but will be developed in plant operations as he/she becomes more seasoned. The EH&S Leader will lead an established safety culture by communicating the vision and setting the Leadership example while continuing to develop an employee-owned safety mentality. Further, the EH&S Leader will develop, mentor, and evaluate site personnel involved in environmental, health, and safety processes and programs.Job Accountabilities
Investigate all EH&S incidents to identify the root cause and establish corrective actions, and provide recommendations to plant Leadership to eliminate the cause.
Lead the site to ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and act as a liaison with government agencies and corporate EH&S.
Provide site security direction as is specifically relates to DOT and OPA-90 regulations.
Provide environmental, health, and safety direction during reviews of new or modified processes, equipment, and capital planning.
Coordinate, develop, and train trainers in OSHA and corporate environmental, health, and safety programs while ensuring all mandated annual training, testing and examinations are completed.
Lead job Safety/Health Analysis and maintain the site emergency response plan.
Utilize the Hazardous Material Review and Approval process and conduct industrial hygiene sampling, environmental and safety audits while representing the site on the environmental and safety networks.
Maintain the EH&S Management System and submit all required reports and fees to the various regulatory agencies.To accomplish these objectives, the EH&S Leader has a full-time Safety Team made up of primary team members that rotate onto and off of the Safety Team in 6-month increments.Job Specifications4 Year College/University Degree in Safety, Environmental or related with EH&S experience in
Manufacturing setting.
Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
Certified Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) preferred
