Architectural Technician

Duties/Responsibilities: (Essential Tasks) Under supervision of a registered architect, must be able to set up new drawings, edit and plot existing CADD drawings, draft 2D construction documents including but not limited to preparation of plans, details, sketches, and drawings; able to draw architectural designs using 3D software programs; and perform other functions necessary to successfully complete architectural design projects. The extent of these tasks will be based on individual capabilities and experience. Adhere to accepted industry and company standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Education (Minimum Required): High School diploma required; Associate degree in a technical discipline of architecture or engineering including course work in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (or equivalent education and experience). Experience (Minimum Required): Minimum of 2 years in an architectural and/or engineering firm using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. A Bachelors degree in Graphic Communications or related field is desirable and would be worth 2 years experience. Other Required: Working knowledge of AutoCad, Architectural Desk Top (ADT), and/or Microstation. Must be able to set up new drawings, able to edit existing sketches, able to draw with 2D commands using proper standards, and able to operate plotter. Knowledge of drafting standards, able to work in a team environment, able to communicate with the desired result of gaining knowledge and skills, able to understand the engineering and architectural industry. Additional Education, Experience and/or Other Qualifications Desired:
Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software), able to create PDF files, CALs and Indexes, and draw in both Imperial and Metric units. Knowledge of object technology packages, and experience in 3D modeling. Ability to obtain security clearance. EEO M/F/D/V
