Entranet prepares for IPO

UK online voting pioneer, Entranet, today announced its plans for floatation.
It has appointed David Best, who took software supplier FI Group to market, to oversee operations as a non-executive chairman.
Entranet received ?10m of funding last year from US-based General Atlantic Partners, which it is spending on branding and recruitment.
The company plans to set up operations in Germany, Holland and Spain. "The IPO and expansion to at least one of these countries will be simultaneous," Best told Silicon.com. "We may acquire in these new markets, or we may just set up shop."
Entranet is currently touting its online voting systems to local authorities and the UK government. It hopes to break even by the end of this financial year. Turnover last year was ?3.1m but the company is on course to reach ?8m by 30 April.
