Accenture launches employee-training company

Management-consulting company Accenture launched Indeliq, a new company offering simulation-based online learning tools to help businesses improve employees' job performance. The New York-based upstart will provide companies with Web-based applications designed to improve essential business skills of managers and key level executives using simulation-based training. For example, people attempt to complete actual tasks over the Web--such as a finance manager completing an analysis report within the simulation. The tools will also point users to video, online coaching and specific reference materials related to the task. Accenture, which developed some of the technology, said Indeliq will operate as an independent company equipped with a management team consisting of outside recruits as well as Accenture partners. The firm's venture capital division, Accenture Technology Ventures, provided capital to help launch the company.
