Design, plan, perform, interpret and report results of scientific experiments for the preparation and timely delivery of drug products for pre-clinical and clinical testing; prepare product specifications, test methods, and method validation documents; contribute to overall Technical R&D strategies and goals.
Major activities:

Design, plan, perform, interpret and report results of scientific experiments under minimal supervision.

Develops and validates robust analytical methods for development and release testing of dosage forms for human clinical studies under cGMPs and applicable Novartis SOPs.

Authors high quality analytical documents (specifications, test methods, validation, analytical reports, etc) under minimal supervision.

Develops and executes efficient work plans to consistently meet project deadlines and milestones with high quality results.

Proactively identifies, evaluates and recommends solutions to analytical issues.

Evaluates and implements new lab equipment, communicates and publishes results internally and externally according to Novartis policies.

Actively participates in project subteam meetings.
Division PharmaceuticalsQualifications
Education: Minimum BS/MS or equivalent.
Desired: Advanced degree in analytical chemistry or pharmaceutics (Ph.D. or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years experience in pharmaceutical analytical development (0-2 years), Ph.D.) or equivalent. Advanced knowledge of inhalation product analysis.

Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of wide range of analytical techniques (GC, HPLC, titrimetry, UV, IR, NIR, Raman spectroscopy, LC/MS), of methods development/validation, and of stability assessment of dosage forms.

Successfully demonstrated the ability to develop and validate robust methods for pharmaceutical products under cGMP processes.

Good working knowledge of computer data systems (LIMS, chromatography data acquisition, spreadsheet, word processing).

Good presentation and scientific writing skills.

Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical development process and advanced knowledge of cGMPs.
