Pharmacologist

The Pharmacologist has the responsibility to understand the therapy needs of our client’s businesses to identify agent candidates, and lead the efforts to evaluate efficacy/toxicity through in-vitro and in-vivo models.

The role necessitates:
-an understanding of pharmacokinetics, define controlled release dosing requirements (dose, rate, and duration) to a partnering formulation team
-establish project timelines and monitor/report progress against established schedule milestones
-partner with other S&T scientists to anticipate future product concepts involving novel delivery technologies
-consult and provide technical support for business unit partners on the development of biomedical combinations devices or pharmaceutical formulations
-actively communicate project status/issues to team members and supervisor
-give internal and external presentations
-champion novel ideas to business partners and management
-act as liaison to one or more business units
-learn about the business unit’s therapies, products and manufacturing processes to become a more effective consultant
-participate in collaborative relationships with external scientists and clinicians
-may provide technical direction to interns, technicians and lower level scientists
-provide input to project plans and the group budgeting process
REQUIREMENTS
-Masters Degree in Pharmacology
-Strong fundamental understanding of science
-Strong problem solving and analytical skills
-Proficiency using word processors, spreadsheets, project management, and statistical software programs
-Application of advanced engineering analysis techniques and tools
-Excellent presentation skills
-Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly
-Ability to work in a team environment, including cross-functional teams, and exert influence without alienating others
-Knowledge and experience working in the drug or protein delivery field (drug identification, screening, and pharmacokinetics).
