Job Description:
The Clinical Services Department is the clinical product development team for Walgreens Health Initiatives, Walgreen Co and Walgreens Health Services business units. This department is comprised of pharmacy professionals responsible for the development and implementation of patient care programs designed to be sold to employers, managed care organizations and the pharmaceutical industry. The Clinical Services Department performs health outcomes analysis of all programs with the goal of demonstrating the value of pharmacist interventions in optimizing the utilization of healthcare resources and in improving patient care outcomes. Leading the industry with innovative programming, current activities include Care Management, Concurrent Drug Use Review, Continuing Education and Pharmacy School Relations, Drug Information, Formulary Services, Medication Management, Medication Use Evaluation, Merged Medical, Health Outcomes and Research, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Retrospective Drug Use Review and Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Content.

Responsibilities:
Individual will be responsible for providing drug information services for WHI and Walgreens; Responding to drug information requests; Maintaining drug information resources; Producing and facilitating clinical publications and CE; Developing newsletters and other communications; Providing drug industry trend information (e.g., utilization and cost trend forecasting); Developing and maintaining drug forecasting information (e.g., pipeline information and patent and exclusivity information); Providing information and QA for clinical web services; Maintaining the integrated drug information tool; Providing medication use evaluation (MUE) production assistance to MUE team as needed; Precepting pharmacy students and residents; Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal clinical staff, sales, information systems/decision support teams, marketing and other business units; Participating in internal committees and assisting with other projects as needed.

Qualifications:
Pharmacist required; PharmD with residency preferred; Requires strong clinical knowledge base and problem solving skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Excellent ability to interpret medical literature and write clear and concise summaries of medical evidence; Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work independently and adapt to a changing work environment; Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills; Experience in Drug Information a definite plus.
