The SCIENTIST will coordinate and conduct all activities required to develop new products and processes and set specifications and operating parameters prior to validation.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



Run/monitor pilot lab batches, scale-up batches and engineering studies of formulations as appropriate. Write engineering protocols/reports as needed.
Submit all samples for analytical testing.
Develop new OTC, Rx and/or VMS formulas from product profiles. Includes identification of appropriate raw materials and processes.
Draft mast formulas based upon the scale-up batch or the engineering study.
Assist in generating raw material/final bulk specifications for new products based on the scale-up or engineering study.
Help troubleshoot manufacturing problems of newly developed products.

REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Life Science or equivalent.
2 years experience of pharmaceutical formulations in an analytical environment.
Solid dosage experience is highly preferred.
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
Thorough knowledge of cGMPs and regulatory guidelines.
Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
