MannKind is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutic products for diseases such as diabetes and cancer. We are currently in Phase 3 clinical trials of our lead product, the Technosphere Insulin System, in the U.S. and Europe, to study its safety and efficacy in the treatment of diabetes. This therapy consists of a proprietary dry powder Technosphere formulation of insulin that is inhaled into the deep lung using our proprietary MedTone inhaler. The inhaler is light, easy to use, and fits in the palm of the patient's hand, which is believed to facilitate patient compliance. We believe that the combination of Technosphere. Insulin's unique performance characteristics, including the rapid transfer of the insulin into the blood. The significantly higher bioavailability, and the convenience and ease of use of the Technosphere. Insulin System may result in the potential to change the way diabetes is treated. In particular, the Technosphere. Insulin System may be the only product under development with a pharmacokinetic profile that approximates the natural first-phase insulin release spike normally seen in healthy individuals following the beginning of a meal.


Due to MannKind Corporation’s continued growth the Danbury, Connecticut facility has an opening for a HVAC technician.


Primary Responsibilities Include:


· Routinely inspecting building equipment operations

· Operating/monitoring the Building Energy Management System

· Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, pumps, piping, chilled water systems, and performing water treatment testing on boilers and cooling towers

· Installing new equipment or replacement parts according to specifications and established safety guidelines

· Tracking inventory of replacement/spare parts

· Assisting with general building maintenance functions

· Additional duties may be assigned
REQUIREMENTS


A Successful Candidate Will Have:

· High school graduate or vocational technical school

· At least 5 years prior experience as an H.V.A.C. & refrigeration technician

· Mandatory, current Connecticut State heating/cooling license

· Prior experience with cGMP clean room environments and a direct digital control Building Energy Management System also required

· Prior experience with Honeywell’s Building Energy Management System, de-ionization water systems and water treatment of boilers and cooling towers is highly desirable
