Clinical Pharmacist

Status: Open Department: Pharmacy Administration Purpose: The clinical pharmacist will oversee the daily operations interface with the PBM and the pharmacy technicians claim, prior authorization and grievance procedures. The pharmacist will prepare Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee monographs and present clinical data on new drug therapies. The pharmacist will participate in Geriatric Health management As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Daily interaction with members, physicians, nurses, SCAN employees and PBM representatives is requiredResponsibilities:
1. Member drug requests will process according to SCAN benefit guidelines In a timely manner with less than 0.1% error rate 2. New drugs will be reviewed by the P&T Committee within 90-180 days of being marketed. 3. Prior Authorizations, coverage determinations, grievances, appeals and exceptions will Be processed to meet CMS timeframes 4. Care management and disease management programs will include pharmacist input On appropriate utilization of drug therapies and include drug utilization review. 5. Pharmacy reports will be provided to finance, financial analysis, provider services and Medical groups by established timeframes

Job Requirements



Managed care experience at a PBM, health plan or medical group preferred. Excellent speaking and writing skills required.Education:
Pharm.D. Degree with a residency in Ambulatory, Clinical or Geriatric pharmacy preferred Pharmacy Licensed in California
