Date Posted: posted 09/01/2006 Job Description: PHARMACY TECHINICIAN CareMax Medical Resources, the newest division of Maxim Healthcare Services, provides Infusion Pharmacy/Respiratory, and Home Medical Equipment. Our vision is to become the nation's largest Home Health Provider.A pharmacy technician works directly with a licensed pharmacist in an array of settings such as an acute care setting, long term care facility, or a retail setting. The pharmacy technician sets up, packages, and labels medication vials. They may also assists with daily operations such as answering phones, stocking, gather patient information, and refill prescriptions.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:1. High School diploma or its equivalent.
2. Full command, verbal and written, of the English language
3. Formal training and certification from a pharmacy technician training program required.
4. Successful completion of CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) national exam preferred.
5. Knowledge of medical terminology.
6. Typing skills.
7. Good customer service.
8. Current BLS as applicable.
9. Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care facility, out-patient setting or retail setting in the past two (2) years.RESPONSIBLE TO: Account ManagerPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: A pharmacy technician may be responsible but not limited to:1. Assist licensed pharmacist with all duties as requested for distribution of medications.2. Maintains records as requested by licensed pharmacist.3. Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify the information is complete and accurate.4. Make simple dilutions.5. Answer phones.6. Fill bottles with prescription medications and affix labels.7. Price prescription medication and place labels.8. Maintain patient profiles.9. Order and track stock medications and supplies.10. Stock pharmaceuticals and supplies.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, sit and reach frequently.Employee is required to lift floor to waist, and waist to overhead occasionally. Strength up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amount continuously.Work situations require attaining precise limits/ tolerances frequently. Making judgments and decisions frequently. Compiling data frequently.
