This position provides pharmaceutical care according to standards established by the Scripps Pharmacies, to assigned group of patients. Reviews and evaluates individual drug orders for efficacy, safety and cost. Documents the care provided to patients. Supervises the drug distribution operations; responsible for assuring safe and efficient drug distribution and control systems. Monitors drug therapy and offers cost effective alternatives, as appropriate. Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy. Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy. Works variable shifts, including evenings and weekends as staffing needs require. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: This position requires a B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm D. Degree, California Pharmacist license; Basic Life Support certification. Hospital pharmacy practice experience. Clinical pharmacy practice experience preferred.; formal clinical pharmacy clerkship training or equivalent experience; Pharmacy Residency preferred.
