Safety Technician
Purpose: 2 (possibly 3) week contract position. Hours: 12 hr. shifts (6am-6pm) Starting Oct. 23rd.
- Helping monitor safety issues during a turnaround of the plant.
- Responsible for issuing safety documentation (permits) and
supervising the safety side of the turnaround jobs (watching craft
labor personnel-they won't be managing people, just supervising
their actions in respect to safety).
Requirements:
At least 3 years experience with lockout/tagout, confined space,
fall protection, fire protection, industrial hygiene, contractor safety
programs, safety training, program view, hot work permits, etc.
Would prefer to have experience at a refinery-preferably asphalt or
chemical, but other industrial experience will be absolutely be
considered. Would like to have experience with standard monitoring
equipment.
ASP/CSP Certification a plus
Basic computer skills (Word,Excel)
Must be able to:
Make judgements or decisions with limited supervision
Plan ahead and organize and carry out work of a technical nature
Get along well with others at all levels of the organization
