Oversees the company’s information technology security program. Plans, develops, implements and reviews security standards, procedures and guidelines to safeguard systems and databases against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure. Assists in testing security products and control techniques and communicating security procedures to users. Identifies regulatory changes that will affect data/information security and recommends appropriate changes. Provides technical assistance in the planning and design of IT systems.
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIESAssumes responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of effective IT strategies and policies. Assists Information Technolohy Supervisor with developing objectives, goals, and strategies for the IT Department. Develops and controls complete computer security and loss prevention. Assess security risks, identify and recommend effective solutions, and consults with operations or business units when necessary. Analyzes complex application and network security issues, provides solutions and recommends enhancements to information security policy and standards.Assumes responsibility for formulating and implementing effective Information Technology services. Improves security infrastructure through internal assessments, identification or vulnerabilities, and implementing effective corrective actions. Performs high level-risk assesment analysis of applications, service providers, networks and servers. Recommend and implement methodlogies to test, assess, and improve intergrity and effectivness of overall security infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, VPN, IDS, severs, databases, and other systems involved with security. Design, conduct, and report on results of risk assessments, audits, system reviews, and vulnerability scans performed using a combination of automated toolds, manual methods and interviewing. Maintain current knowledge of security vulnerabilities to identify vulnerabilities applicable to the infrastructure and recommend, implement, and assess the effectiveness of corrective actions. Integrate security solutions and improvements into existing infrastructure with minimal disruption. Perform comprehensive security reviews of applications addressing all layers. Perform intrusion detection monitoring and report findings to management. Evaluate and recommend network and application solutions for establishing and improving security. Evaluate, install, and configure security tools to enforce security policies. Develop technical security standards and guidelines to address best practices. Implement security incident response plan when needed to identify the root cause of the security incident, recommend and implement solutions to limit the scope of the incident and eradicate any sign of the intrusion. Conduct security reviews on IT projects and design security solutions for new systems and applications.Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients, vendors, and outside contacts. Ensures the effective coordination of client needs with IT resources. Obtains and conveys information as needed. Cultivates and maintains positive relations with hardware and software vendors and corporate contacts. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relations with staff and management.
Assists staff in other departments to increase understanding of system operations and effectively integrate new technology.
Ensures that reports are completed accurately and timely. Attends meetings as required.
