Materials Analyst 5

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:Responsible for providing data analysis in support of the various areas within the Materials function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TYPICAL FOR MOST POSITIONS:1. Assists in auditing data for accuracy and preparing summary reports, spreadsheets, graphics and charts based on the analysis of data.2. May assist in the preparation of recommendations to management based on the analysis of data.3. Collects, compiles, analyzes and presents various types of data.4. Prepares summary reports, spreadsheets, and charts based on analysis of data from multiple sources, which may include but will not be limited to customer bills of material reports, staff metrics, PPV metrics, and PPV form tracking.5. May create and/or maintain databases in support of data collection.6. Audits data. Challenges and resolves data integrity issues, including but not limited to quotations.7. Proactively identifies and escalates potential issues related to metrics.8. Where applicable, suggest process/communication improvements relative to metric tracking activities.9. Tracks materials financial performance, and initiate corrective actions when required.
SPECIALIZED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:1. May support inventory control, supply chain management, material planning and scheduling.2. Develop commodity spend profiles/breaksdowns: lead time profiling, inventory positioning, and site execution to price.3. Establish common pricing analysis tools4. Provide detailed bill of materials analysis by site5. Perform general reporting and analysis activities for score carding of suppliers.6. Validate site pricing through implementation of a common cost review and pricing process.7. Assist in the supply chain transfer and risk management for NPI.8. Provide PPV targeting, tracking and asset velocity.9. Design, manage and control all data analysis tools
Education / ExperienceTypically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience. Prefer a minimum of 9 years of experience in materials or related field.
Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesAbility to operate: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and relevant database/business systems. Excellent analytical and organizational skills required. An understanding of the electronic component markets, price trends and technologies desired. A background in electronics manufacturing is desired. May program relevant business systems.
