BLIMP GROUND CREW

BLIMP GROUND SUPPORT TEAM100% TRAVEL, NATIONWIDE. 48 weeks per year traveling from city to city within the United States. ROAD WARRIOR!!!!!!!!!!!The Lightship Group operates airships (BLIMPS)for high profile commercial flients for the purpose of advertising and public relations.Each of these blimjps requires a support team of up to 15 people, including pilots, mechanics and ground support personnel. The blimps and crew travel all year as they meet a schedule of appearances at major events in both the eastern and western United States.These blimps are used by the client as an aerial ambassador providing aerial cameras over major sporting events, VIPs for sightseeing tours and general advertising over key cities, nationwide.Once a candidate has joined the traveling team, they will be trained for the position by other members of the team. They will act as part of the ground crew to help with launch and recovery of the airship during flight missions and as security for the airship during non-flight hours.
The ground support team will:Assist the blimp during ground maneuvering to and from the mooring for takeoff and laidnings.Maintain ground support equipment.Setup and teardown mooring equipment when relocating to another city.Help with driving duties during relocation to the next city.WORK SCHEDULES will vary based on the client's ability to secure events. 5 day work week with 2 days planned off. The days off may vary based on weather versus flight schedules. Work shifts vary as crew members work their security watches.STARTING PAY for this position is $17,680.00 per year. An additional $190.00 is pair to each team member each week as per diem. This portion of the pay is not subject to taxes. This money is for personal expenses. Hotel is furnished and paid by The Lightship Group.MECHANICS
Other positions are available with the blimp crew, such as A&P Mechanics. This position requires an FAA license and the pay scale is higher. Anyone who possesses this FAA license and wishes to apply should contact the Maintenance Director at 407-363-7777.

This is required because airships work on airports behind the securred areas.A GOOD DRIVING RECORD and VALID STATE DRIVER'S LICENSEDUI or multiple moving violations could limit our ability to hire.DRUG FREE WORK PLACEThe Lightship Group is a DRUG FREE WORK PLACE and conducts a hair analysis for all applicants.BE PHYSICALLY FITThe position of Ground Support Team Member requires a degree of physical fitness. The daily job requires:LIFTING (up to 75 pounds)RUNNING (Short distances, not always on level ground)JUMPINGPULLINGCLIMBINGLiving accommodations are furnished by The Lightship Group. All team members share a room with one other team member.Travel from city to city will be in company vehicles. No personal transportation is required.
