Growing nursing home wound care practice in need of MD/DO/ARNP/PAs. Flexible work hours, no night or weekend call, great staff to work with, well compensated.

Duties:

Manage wound care in the nursing home environment in Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
Supervise Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioners.
Educate personnel. Experience is helpful but not required.

Wound Care in Nursing Homes

I expect you have no knowledge of wound care.
We will teach you all there is to know.
I expect you to read the materials assigned to study and demonstrate this with documents and conversation.

It takes about a month to learn the basics, 3 months to start to feel comfortable, 1 year to know wound care.

This is a day job, Monday through Friday. No nights or week ends. But I do expect you to be available by cell phone 24/7.

We work in Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee & Collier Counties Florida and North Carolina. We group the facilities by location and assign them to a physician/AHP. The physician/AHP visit these facilities weekly and manages the care of the patient's wounds.

Wound care involves:

• Assessing the patient (complete H&P). Special attention is paid to disorders that increase the risks of wound formation.
• Debridement of wounds
• Order appropriate dressings
• Ordering other appropriate medications and instructions
• Educating the nursing staff
• Communication with PCP, family and QSM team (that’s us) as needed.

Guessing is not allowed.

Cell phones are provided for easy communication with team members.

The QSM (Quality Surgical Management) team consists of me (General Surgeon), 4 other MDs, 4 AHPs and 5 office personnel trained for specific tasks. Most important is that this good group of people enjoys working together as a team and is respectful of each other. I like to have a relaxed but efficient and professional working relationship.

Full time position is compensated by annual salary with quarterly bonuses based on productivity, documents created, team work and other criteria.

Licensed to practice in Florida
Drug dispensing license
