This position is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, with emphasis in specialty areas (i.e., Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care), monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding blood work results, monitoring, teaching, and training. Performs respiratory therapy modalities with a basic understanding of related indications, contraindications and precautions. Delivers medical gases; sets up and maintains the device and ensures appropriate humidification levels. Provides therapies to maintain bronchopulmonary drainage.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate from an approved AMA program in respiratory care, or a student actively enrolled in an accredited Registered Respiratory therapist program, who a) must have completed the first professional year, b) must be actively progressing toward program completion and registry eligibility, and c) must successfully earn the Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician credential (which ever is earlier): (1) within 24 months of hire, or (2) within 6 months of becoming certification-eligible. Must possess valid Idaho respiratory care license. Current Basic Life Support Certification, NPR, ACLS attendance or certification, classified as Respiratory Technician according to National Board of Respiratory care
