Registered Nurse Preceptor

Florida Health Care Plans is seeking a Registered Nurse Preceptor for the Holly Hill facility.



A RN Preceptor is a full time Clinical Trainer. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating and providing training to all clinical staff. Job responsibilities include carrying out assessments, procedures and treatments requiring knowledge and technical ability in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and Florida Health Care Plan’s Policies and Procedures. Must demonstrate a professional and caring image at all times while maintaining patient confidentiality. Take leadership role in practice working with Managers/Charge Nurse to help improve quality of care.

REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or school of practical/vocational nursing.
Current valid Florida State Board of Nursing RN.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to instruct others and verify comprehension.
Adaptable to changing environments.
Current Professional Rescuer CPR certification (only acceptable programs are the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross) or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
Ability to provide care as evidenced by schooling or experience for patients as assigned:
a. MED/SURG – Adult and geriatric patients. Primary Care and/or Specialty Suite.
b. PEDIATRICS – In Primary Care and/or Speciality Suites as assigned.
c. MENTAL HEALTH – Pediatric, Adult and Geriatric patients.
One year or more of hospital or clinic setting experience preferred; required for Pediatrics and Mental Health.
Venipuncture/IV therapy required.
Strong Customer Service skills.
Computer skills required with typing of at least 30 wpm.
Knowledge of CPT/ICD9 coding preferred.
Ability to remain professional when working in stressful situations.
Valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation with ability to travel to various facilities as required.
