Registered Nurse Operating Room

The Operating Room RN provides operative care in a state of the art environment that includes an electronic medical record and the most advanced medical technology available. Patient populations include: Cardiac, orthopedic, bariatric, urology and general surgery. ACLS certification required. Must be committed to providing excellent service to all of our customers, be team oriented and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.

Training/Experience:
-Current BLS Certification
-Previous OR nursing
-Certification preferred
-Maintains up to date knowledge of trends and developments in surgical nursing
-Other requirements that may be assigned.

Operation of Equipment: This position requires use of, application or removal of and maintenance of the equipment needed to perform routine patient care (suction equipment, Sphygmomanometers, etc.) in addition to the following:

-Surgical instrumentation/equipment including powered
-Sterilization equipment(autoclaves, Steris units)
-Specialty equipment, (lasers, microscopes, electro-cautery units, video systems, liposuction equipment)
-Doppler
-Chest tube drainage equipment
-Information systems/medication delivery system
-Cardiac monitor, defibrillator
-Anesthesia machines for Oxygen delivery
-Hover Mat lifts
-Sequential compression devices
REQUIREMENTS
* Active Florida Registered Nurse license or able to obtain.
* Must take call 1 weekend every 4 weeks AND 2 nights per week
* Circulating experience a must, able to scrub and circulate a plus!
* Spine & Ortho experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Provides direct and indirect patient care as assigned in the acute care setting. Nurses communicate with physicians/director/charge nurse/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Nurses are able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform nursing duties in assigned department.
