RN's - Prior Auth Registered Nurses - Direct Hire to $65K/year!

PRIOR AUTHORIZATION REGISTERED NURSES

•Prior Authorization Nurse will provide support to prior authorization phone representatives of a Medicare/Medicaid managed care organization.
•Responsible for reviewing pre- authorization and referral requests for medical appropriateness by using established clinical protocols to determine medical necessity of request.
•Receive, review, verify, and process requests for referrals, diagnostic testing, inpatient admissions, outpatient procedures/testing, emergency room notification, home health care services, pharmacy pre- authorization edits, and durable medical equipment/supplies.
•Heavy telephonic communication.
REQUIREMENTS
•Two to three years nursing practice in a managed care environment.
•Current Arizona RN unrestricted license.
•Knowledge of home health, pharmacy and durable medical equipment.
•Working knowledge of medical terminology.
•Working knowledge of coding (ICD- 9, CPT- 4).
•Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid.
•Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
•Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
•Bilingual Spanish preferred.
