RN - Registered Nurse - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit - CICU

Our CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) is fast paced, progressive and high tech. Our Cardiac Care unit is divided into 2 self -sufficient units, 12 beds and 20 beds per unit. The critical care nurses on our staff specialize in the care of the complex cardiac patient. The acuity of these patients require special skills that include balloon pump therapy, ventilator support, continual renal replacement therapy, as well as advanced critical thinking skills. Some patients may also be involved in cardiological research studies and our nurses have the opportunity to participate in ongoing drug and research studies.

Our nurses enjoy giving excellent care to our patients and based on Apache ratings, our Coronary Care Unit has the lowest mortality rate in the nation for AMI patients. In addition our length of stay for the AMI patient is one of the lowest in the nation. Caring for the mind, body and spirit- we practice the interdisciplinary approach. Respiratory Therapists, Chaplains, Case Management and Dietician are stationed within the unit for immediate assistance to our patients and staff.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Minimum 1-year recent ICU/CICU RN experience required. Or will train through Critical Care Nurse Internship programs that run February, July and October. Must have 1-year current Med/Surg experience minimum to apply for program.
Basic Life Support, ACLS. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a FL RN nursing license or the ability to obtain a license in the state of Florida.
