OUTPATIENT SUPERVISING NURSE



Welcome to Barton Memorial Hospital. We are pleased that you are interested in joining our organization. Barton Memorial Hospital, located on the south shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, California is currently seeking to hire a part time, Outpatient Supervising Nurse.



Since 1963, Barton Memorial Hospital has served the healthcare needs of our community and continues to expand as those needs increase. The Barton HealthCare System consists of: Barton Memorial Hospital, Stateline Medical Center, Tahoe Family Physicians, Job’s Peak Internal Medicine, Job’s Peak Pediatrics, Barton Community Clinic and two winter seasonal clinics at local ski resorts. Our staff is dedicated to providing quality health care for the entire family from birth to end-of-life palliative care.



POSITION OVERVIEW
As Community Clinic Registered Nurse Supervisor
• Provides leadership and supervision to all clinical staff.
• Coordinates department activities, ensuring safety of patients and staff.
• Directs all human resource functions of the department’s clinical staff.
• Oversees training and ensures staff competencies
• Ensures safe staffing levels
• Ensures Regulatory Compliance
• Ensures ongoing monitoring of departmental indicators and PI activities; reports activities as directed.
• Responds to the needs of the department by performing RN duties.
As Registered Nurse
• Provides professional nursing care, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care.
• Assists physicians in providing medical care and performing procedures.
• Supervises, trains and evaluates work performance of all clinical personnel.
• Provides telephone triage for assessment of care needs
• Care is provided based on ages of the population served; Infant through geriatric - 65 years or older.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in the Community Clinic.
• The Community Clinic Registered Nurse reports to the RN Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment/annual Net Learning requirements
• In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an outpatient, clinic or acute care environment
• Current RN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (CPR for the Professional Rescuer).
