Nursing Manager-Emergency Department

Manager of 45 FTE's in a Level II hospital managing over 40,000ED visits per year.

This Nurse Manager must be able to ensure safe, quality, efficient, economical and individualized patient care within the established standards of practice. Manage compliance with all regulatory and accrediting requirements to ensure effective infection control and provides a safe and clean environment.

Has direct accountability for budget creation, maintenance and revenue accountability. Responsible for a staff in multiple clinical operational areas and responsible for program operations that may cut across more than one entity in the organization. Has direct accountability for hiring, disciplinary action and termination. Defines organizational structure appropriate for the areas of responsibility.

Plan and coordinate nursing unit(s) PI activities and reports results to Administration. Functions as the liaison between Administration and staff. Responsible for staff development, identification of Risk Management issues, policies, guidelines, safety and infection control issues and monitoring of staff attendance at mandatory meetings. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Assumes responsibility for professional growth and expertise and continuing education.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven independent leader with strong interpersonal communication skills. A creative and motivational leadership style with effective problem solving skills. Able to lead a team and become a valuable part of current hospital administration.

Graduate from an approved school of nursing
Bachelor's degree is required in nursing, business or health related field
Master's degree in nursing, business or health related field is preferred
Current RN license in the state of Florida
Maintains current CPR certification
ACLS/PALS/NALS for specialty area
National specialty certification preferred
Minimum of Five (5) years experience in management of clinical areas
Specialty or Nursing Administration Certification preferred
