Medical Case Manager

Position: We are currently seeking to fill a part-time position as a Medical Nurse Case Manager (RN) in the South Suburban Area.

Our Company: We are a small medical and vocational rehabilitation consulting firm. We specialize in helping people with disabilities/injuries return to work and a productive life. We serve as a liaison between the patient, physician, therapist, insurance company, and employer. We are based in the south suburbs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This RN professional will be responsible for managing assigned case load to ensure individuals receive appropriate healthcare in order to return-to-work and normal activity in timely and cost effective manner. Must have strong communication skills to work with carriers, attorneys, medical care providers, employers and employees, to ensure appropriate and cost-effective healthcare services. Good communication skills and negotiation skills to effectively establish target return to work dates. Must practice good sound clinical judgment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and to work independently. Computer literacy required. Valid driver’s license. Must be willing to perform local travel on a daily basis in the Chicago metropolitan area.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS: Associate or bachelors degree in nursing required. At least two years of case management and/or workers’ compensation-related experience preferred, or two years of clinical experience in an orthopedic or neurosurgery clinic. Registered nurse with current, valid state licensure required. Other state licenses/certifications as required by law.
