Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN - Urodynamics & Physical Medicine

MAJOR DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Identify self as a Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN (verbally and wearing name tag with title).
2.Perform aseptic and sterile procedures.
3.Take vital signs.
4.Prepare patient for the provider’s care.
5.Administer medications and give non-intravenous injections as directed by the provider.
6.Administer basic first aid.
7.Assist with patient examination, procedures, or treatments as directed by the provider.
8.Schedule x-rays and labs, and notify patient of results as directed by provider. If results are coming from outside facility document results into patient’s chart.
9.Track diagnostic procedures to assure that patient has had all diagnostic studies performed, are reviewed by physician, and patient is notified of results within a timely manner. If results are coming from outside facility document results into patient’s chart.
10.Collect lab specimens as directed by the provider.
11.Perform office and/or administrative procedures required by the provider.
12.Contact patient with authorized instructions and the pharmacies regarding medication refills and document in Practice Partner the same day under the direction of the provider.
13.Provide medical advice to patient and document in patient’s chart only with direct input/approval of provider.
14.Schedule surgery, provide patient with written instructions to include dates and times of appointments and surgery, and document in patient’s chart.
15.Coordinate schedule changes with front desk.
16.Complete office charge slip with appropriate diagnosis and CPT code and submit to data entry in a timely manner.
17.Schedule depositions.
18.Schedule and coordinate IME’s.
19.Schedule and coordinate conferences.
20.Schedule and perform Urodynamics procedures on patients
REQUIREMENTS
1.Demonstrated customer-service skills.

3.Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner.
4.Minimum education requirement is high school diploma or GED.
5.Computer proficient.
6.Type 40 cwpm.
7.Must be able to be mobile and work various positions (standing, sitting, bending, walking) for extended periods of time during an 8-hour period.
8.Proficient in use of English language both in written and verbal communication. Must be able to communicate with individuals of varying socio-economic backgrounds.
9.Must be able to work under stress and remain calm and professional.
10.Must be certified by American Association of Medical Assistants or as a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Society of Medical Technologists as of May 5, 1997 or have a current FL license for LPN or RN
11.Must maintain CPR certification.
