Director of Nursing Services $5000.00 Sign on Bonus

With more than 20 skilled nursing facilities in Connecticut and Rhode Island, Southington, CT-based Athena Health Care Systems is one of Connecticut's largest managers of skilled nursing facilities.
The position itself is located in a Connecticut skilled nursing facility. Athena Health Care Systems' corporate office is in Southington.The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of a nursing facility's Nursing Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
As the Director of Nursing Services, you are responsible and accountable to carry out your assigned duties, and for the supervision, provision and quality of nursing care in the facility. Under the direction of the Medical Director, you are charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by this facility. As DNS you will report directly to the Administrator.
Must have at least one (1) year of additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing and one (1) year of nursing administration. Nursing administration is defined as: Registered Nurses employed as Director of Nurses; Assistant Director of Nurses; Supervisor in a chronic and convalescent facility; employment in short-term hospital or chronic disease hospital as Director of Nurses, Assistant Director of Nurses, Supervisor, Head Nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, Staff Development Director, Infection Control Coordinator, Utilization Review Coordinator.Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, college or university. B.S.N. preferred. CPR certified. Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
